Drouco has been serving Derry, NH families for over 50 years, and junk removal is one of the calls we get most often here. Derry's the second-biggest community we serve regularly, and we cover everything from the apartment buildings near downtown to the farms and orchards out toward East Derry. With 33,000 people and a strong real-estate turnover market, we stay busy here year-round. Whether you're in downtown Derry or out past Hood Road, we know the route — and we've been doing this work for three generations.
We handle the full spectrum of junk removal — single items, full rooms, garages, basements, attics, and everything in between. Most jobs are done same-day or next-day, and you only pay for what we haul. We sort what's recyclable, donate what's still usable, and dump the rest at the proper transfer station so nothing ends up where it shouldn't.

Third-floor walk-up or a packed basement, our crew carries it out. You just point.

Most jobs are booked and cleared fast — often the same day you call.
Sorted, donated, disposed right
We recycle what we can, donate what's still good, and pay the dump fees so you don't.
How it works
Simple, start to finish
- 1
Quick phone estimate
Tell us roughly what you've got and where. We give you a ballpark on the call so there are no surprises.
- 2
Confirmed pickup window
We lock in a window that works for you — usually same-day or next-day depending on the size.
- 3
We do all the lifting
Our crew carries everything out. You don't move anything, you don't sweep anything — that's our job.
- 4
Pay only for what we haul
Final price is based on truck space used. We sweep up, then you pay.
Why Derry calls us
Three generations, one phone number
Drouco Waste Removal has been a family-run waste removal business in southern New Hampshire for over 50 years — three generations of the same family showing up, working hard, and treating every job like the customer is our neighbor (because usually, they are). That's not a marketing line — it's how we've stayed in business this long.
They worked around a tight closing deadline and got the house cleaned out two days early.
The Derry disposal guide
Rather haul it yourself? Here's exactly how Derry's town disposal works — the passes, the hours, the item rules. Or skip all of it and let us handle the run.
- AppliancesRefrigerators and other freon-bearing appliances $20 each (covers freon removal cost). Non-freon appliances accepted in metal stream.
- TVs & e-wasteTVs & monitors 13-25in: $15. TVs & monitors 26in+: $25.
- Brush & yard wasteYard waste, brush, leaves accepted as part of standard residential disposal (no charge for residents).
- MattressesMattresses $35 each (effective July 2022 — likely covers NH state mattress recycling fee).
- Tricky itemsCharges apply to C&D, bulky items, and treated furniture. Hampstead residents NOT allowed (Hampstead has separate arrangement). NEVER accepts other-town trash under any circumstance.
Do the math
The Derry Transfer Station math
Derry's Transfer Lane facility is resident-only and strictly enforced — trash from any other town is never accepted, so out-of-town family can't run the load for you. Here's what doing it yourself looks like:
The DIY route
- Refrigerator or freon appliance$20 each
- Mattress$35 each
- TV or monitor 26" and up$25 each
- TV or monitor 13–25"$15 each
- HoursTue–Sat only, doors close 3:30pm
- Sunday & Mondayclosed — weekend cleanups wait
One call to DrouCo
- One flat, upfront quote — dump fees, labor & permits included
- We load everything, from wherever it sits
- Same-day & next-day slots, seven days a week
- Recyclables sorted, usable items donated
A single-room cleanout with a fridge, a couch, a mattress and an old TV runs about $80 in fees alone — plus the truck, the loading, and a weekday afternoon off work because the station closes at 3:30. We bundle all of it into one flat price and skip the scale entirely.
FAQ
Questions Derry homeowners ask
How fast can you get here for Derry junk removal?
Most Derry junk removal jobs we take same-day or next-day. Call us at 603-484-9300 and we'll give you a window on the spot. If it's an emergency or a real-estate closing deadline, tell us — we'll work around it.
How much does junk removal cost in Derry?
We price by how much space the load takes up in the truck, not by item count or weight. A quarter-truck might run a few hundred dollars; a full truckload is more. You get a firm number before we touch anything, so the price you hear is the price you pay.
What kind of items can you take?
Almost anything that isn't hazardous — old furniture, appliances, mattresses, boxes, yard debris, construction scrap, attic and basement clutter. We can't take paint, oil, propane tanks, or chemicals (those have to go through local hazardous-waste days), but anything else is fair game.
Do you handle stairs and basements?
Yes. Our crew handles the carry-out. Whether it's a third-floor walk-up in Derry or a bulkhead basement, we're built for it — no extra cost for stairs.
What do you do with the stuff after pickup?
We sort. Anything reusable goes to local donation centers, recyclables go to the right facilities, and the rest gets dumped properly at licensed transfer stations. We don't dump on the side of the road, ever.
The Derry dump won't take my brother's truck because he lives in Windham. Can you help?
This is one of the most common calls we get from Derry. The transfer station is strictly Derry-resident-only — helpers from other towns get turned away at the gate. We're licensed haulers, so none of that applies: we load, haul, and dispose of everything, no permit or residency checks involved.
What does Derry charge for appliances and mattresses if I go myself?
As of the current fee schedule: $20 for a refrigerator or any freon appliance, $35 per mattress, and $15–$25 per TV depending on size. Those fees are per item, on top of your time and truck. Our flat quote includes every one of them.
Can you come after work? The transfer station closes at 3:30pm.
Yes. We run 8am to 7pm, seven days a week — including Sundays and Mondays when the transfer station is closed. Evening and weekend pickups are exactly the gap we exist to fill in Derry.
Do you cover East Derry and the Beaver Lake area?
All of Derry — downtown, East Derry village, the Beaver Lake shoreline, and everything off Route 28 and 102. Lake-cottage cleanouts with tight driveways are a specialty; we've hauled plenty of them.
We know Derry
Broadway to Beaver Lake, East Derry to the Hood Park side
Derry is the biggest town in our eastern loop, and the jobs range as wide as the town does. Downtown around Broadway it's older two- and three-family homes where the job is tight staircases and street parking. Out toward Beaver Lake and East Derry village it's lake cottages and antique capes with barns and sheds that have been collecting for generations. And in the neighborhoods that fill in around Pinkerton Academy, it's growing families swapping out furniture, playsets, and one-car-garages' worth of stuff.
Our trucks run Route 102 constantly between Hudson, Londonderry and Derry, so getting a same-day slot here is rarely a problem. One call, one price, and your Saturday stays yours.
